Gatka is an ancient martial art introduced to Sikhs by the Gurus to help defend freedom of religion and human rights of Sikhs and non-Sikhs. It is considered to be a spiritual as well as a great form of physical exercise.
Students will learn how to play the Vaja by learning the basic musical scale known as SARGAM. Students are taught introductory Shabads and also get the opportunity to perform during the Sunday & Family Darbar.
The purpose of the Gurmat Gian Sangeet Academy is to provide children with an opportunity to use their Gurbani Santhia skills to perform the Seva of reading Gurbani during the sacred Akhand Path or Sahej Path ceremony
